Six Folds Sleepover - March 11th
Join us this weekend for an evening of fun programming and sisterhood! Six Folds will be from 6pm to 10 am at Jenna Lanzet's house. We also ask that everyone brings two canned goods--we will be donating them to a food pantry! PS: big shout out to Carly Schwartz, Alayna Borowick, and Lilah Weiss for being on steering! J-Serve - March 13th J-Serve is the international day of youth service - children and teens from all over the world will be participating! This event will take place from 2pm to 5pm at the Muhammad Ali Center. A bus will be taking everyone from the JCC to the Muhammad Ali Center at 1:45. If you are planning on taking the bus, please contact Mike Steklof and let him know. To register, go to jewishlouisville.org/jserve2016. We hope to see as many toucans there as possible! Join us for our first Regional Event of the term. We will be in Cincinnati along with the boys for a weekend of games, fun, and bonding! Transportation will be provided to and from on Saturday night and Sunday night. This convention is home housing, so everyone who attends will be assigned a house to stay at. (For info on this/rooming requests, contact Abby Soloman from Cincinatti.) Can't wait to see you there!

Jay Levine is hosting a JCC lock in with Drew Corson from Friday, November 6-7 from 5:15pm - 11am! We will be celebrating global shabbat and will have the honor of having a Holocaust survivor share his story with us.
CPK Pizza Fundraiser
Jay Levine is hosting a fundraiser at CPK Pizza in the Oxmoor Mall from 5pm - 9pm! The flyers have been shared on GroupMe as well as our Chapter Twitter! If you show the waiter/waitress the flyer before you leave, CPK will donate a portion of the price of your meal to JLBBG! If you're too busy on school night the flyer works with takeout as well!

I am proud to announce that it is being coordinated by our very own Laina Meyerowitz along with Harrison Lippy from Columbus, OH! The Convention is themed "Life in KiOLOR; Let the Games Begin" and is sure to be a blast!!! The weekend is basically a huge competition between the chapters so it gets super fun and the AZA and BBG chapter with the most points at the end of the weekend each wins the Spirit Stick. We won last year so sign up and help us defend our title! This is my absolute FAVORITE convention and I'm so excited for it! This will be the first KIO (only) regional convention for many of you and it is definitely a great way to get a feel for the region.

BBG Banquet: Saturday, Dec 13, Hawthorne Suites (Time TBA)
As the Fall/Winter Term comes to a close, we will be having a banquet for all of Jay Levine BBG to reminisce about all the fun we had this term. Each board member will give their states at the banquet as well where they will talk about their accomplishments throughout the term--this is a great way to find inspiration for elections next term!!
Regionals: Dec 19-22 Indianapolis, IN, The Marriot Indianapolis East Hotel
Light the night with KIO AZA and BBG for the final convention of the 60th year of KIO!! These four days (yes you read right, 4 not 3) will be packed with regional elections, lives, installs/destalls, a banquet, a special outing, and of course, BBYO-legendary friendships and programming. This incredible convention is being coordinated by Matt Gordon and our own Katie Segal and you won't want to miss it!!! All expenses are paid in the initial fee paid on b-linked: this includes a hotel room, hotel-provided meals and regular amenities, the special outing TBA, and transportation to and from. A packing list will be released closer to the convention.

As the Fall/Winter Term comes to a close, we will be having a banquet for all of Jay Levine BBG to reminisce about all the fun we had this term. Each board member will give their states at the banquet as well where they will talk about their accomplishments throughout the term--this is a great way to find inspiration for elections next term!!
Regionals: Dec 19-22 Indianapolis, IN, The Marriot Indianapolis East Hotel
Light the night with KIO AZA and BBG for the final convention of the 60th year of KIO!! These four days (yes you read right, 4 not 3) will be packed with regional elections, lives, installs/destalls, a banquet, a special outing, and of course, BBYO-legendary friendships and programming. This incredible convention is being coordinated by Matt Gordon and our own Katie Segal and you won't want to miss it!!! All expenses are paid in the initial fee paid on b-linked: this includes a hotel room, hotel-provided meals and regular amenities, the special outing TBA, and transportation to and from. A packing list will be released closer to the convention.

We celebrate Sukkot to remember the 40 years the Israelites traveled in the desert and to appreciate the harvest. Traditional celebration often involves the decorating/use of a Sukkah (3 walled structure with a leaf-covered roof, decorated with fake fruits, vegetables, leaves, etc.) and a Lulav and Etrog. Never forget to be thankful for all that you have <3
Six Fold Sleepover: October 11, 6:30pm -OCtober 12 10am at Talia Blue's home (address in Mike's email)
Your mission, should you choose to accept it.... is to be Six Folds!!! This term's Six Fold sleepover is themed Mission Impossible and is for sure one of the highlights of the term. We will be spending the night participating in programming around the Six Folds of BBG: sisterhood, social action, creativity, recreation, community service, and Jewish heritage. Keep an eye out for an invitation in the mail and please RSVP to Laina by October 6!!
KIO Spirit Convention 2k14: OCtober 24-26 Camp Campbell Gard
We've got spirit, yes we do! we've got spirit, how about you?! Register on b-linked ASAP for one of the best weekends of your life!! Throughout the weekend, all chapters will partake in games and competitions to accumulate points to win the spirit stick! This year's spirit convention is being coordinated by Rachel Bernstein and Noah Glazier and is themed "The Final Countdown"; our own Jessie Hymes is the BBG admin, Audrey Nussbaum is on steering committee, and Marnina Goldberg and Emily Schulman are on the publicity committee-- congrats girls!!
Early Bird registration ($180) ends Wednesday, September 24 and the price there after will be $195.
Transportation will be provided to and from the camp that is just north of Cincinnati. SPecific times will be available soon but we will be leaving close to 4 on friday and returning close to 1 on sunday.
A packing list with daily themes will be available closer to the date but you will definitely need any and all JL spirit wear you have, clothes for two days, pajamas, toiletries, money for shuk and lunch on sunday, a towel, shower shoes, blanket and sheets/sleeping bag, pillow, etc. Keep in mind all luggage is put through a heater upon arrive to the camp to prevent bed bugs so be sure your bag does not have excessive plastic, wheels, or meltable materials--if not, you will have to take all of your things out and put into separate bags provided. Shoes, toiletries, and other things that can melt should be in a separate bag/easily taken out of your luggage.

Our two chapters will be participating in messy games with shaving cream, etc. -- so dress accordingly! --at Bradley Schwartz's home (address in emails) and then we will walk to Audrey's house for some chilling by the pool. Come catch up with all your BBYO friends and have a great time:) Food will be provided but please bring $7 to cover supplies for all the fun and games:D

Dare to Care holds a 5k walk run every year in Louisville to support those going through hunger problems. The cost is $15 for youth and $25 for adults and Louisville BBYO will be there to show our support and we'd love to see you there. Contact Mike Steklof for more information.

Bakesale-December 4-We will be holding our bakesale for a final time this term at the JCC beginning at 4 PM and running until 6 PM. We will be selling both baked goods and healthy snacks, for those who have just worked out. I you are interested in working a 30 minutre or hour long shift or donating an baked good or healthy snack please contact Arianna Goldstien.

Yom Haatzmaut-Israel Independence Day! The JCC is holding a festival for Israel at the JCC. The JCC donates a lot of money towards Jay Levine. To thank them please come and help run booths at the carnival at the JCC at 12.

The girls must a prepare a speech, platform, and wear a nice dress. The MIT Board will work with their co on Board to prepare a program for a future event. Details will be given out through Facebook and email. I encourage each girl to run because you get to learn how BBYO elections run and it is a great opportunity to begin leadership without overwhelming yourself. We will also be discussing AIT/MIT and giving advice to the MITs on what to bring, wear, and prepare for AIT/MIT 2013
